Special interest groups are created as specialized member needs arise. They are created through the National office, but often function independently. The Planned Giving Group
This group is a “think tank” for experienced Planned Giving Officers. The group meets twice annually and creates its own agenda of items for discussion. One of the meetings is in February and the other is at the time of the National Conference. The group also offers input and recommendations regarding the Planned Giving track for the Annual Conference. In addition, they also serve as mentors to members who are just beginning Planned Giving programs for their organizations. Membership in this group is open to any active or associate member who is a Planned Giving Officer and has at least five years of experience in Planned Giving. The High Volume Mailers Group
This group is another “think tank” for organizations and staffs of groups who are large-mailers. Large-mailers are defined by the number of pieces of mail that are dropped annually. Many of the largest Catholic direct mail fundraisers in the United States are NCDC members. This group also creates its own agenda, which focuses on technology, testing and research, postal issues, and other concerns that are specific to very high volume mailers. Members of this group also represent NCDC on other non-profit mail associations and boards. This group makes recommendations to NCDC for advocacy action and also suggests programs and speakers for the National Conference. They usually meet in Chicago in the Spring. Hispanic Fundraising Group
The purpose of this group is two-fold: First, to further understand the impact of the Hispanic community in United States as well as within the U.S. Catholic Church. Secondly, to better understanding the diversity of interests, concerns and needs of this segment, in order to determine best practices in engaging them in mission
Major Gifts Affinity Group
This group meets at the NCDC Annual Conference to discuss issues of special concern to them in terms of their major gifts programs. Participants create their own agenda and are self-directed. The group is also encouraged to make recommendations to the NCDC President about programming or other initiatives that would enhance the major gifts efforts of our membership.
