Major Gifts: Making The Ask—A Call to Action

November 6, 2013 @ 9:30 am

Presented by  Theresa Shubeck, Executive Vice President, Ruotolo Associates, Inc., Milissa Else,Vice President and Director, Church Division, Ruotolo Associates

We can spend a great deal of time talking about major gifts, mining our database, identifying potential major donors, and cultivating donors, but in the end we must actually make the ask.  As a follow up to “Major Gifts: Are You in the Mailbox or the Living Room?,” this workshop will examine a variety of major gift solicitation scenarios.  Participants will glean important insights on all aspects of the actual “ask”, including overcoming fear and objections.  Participants will have the opportunity to interact in staged scenarios as “donors” and “those making the ask.”  Discussion regarding timing, materials and preparation are also included in this program.  The participants will leave the workshop with all the tools needed to make “the ask” with confidence.
