Catholic Newman Community at the University of Rochester
A native of Auburn, NY and ordained in 1993 for the Diocese of Rochester, Fr. Cool serves as Director of the University of Rochester (since 1999) and Director of Rochester Institute of Technology (since 2013) working extensively with administration, advancement and ministry for both campus ministry sites. Since 1995 he has been a member of the Diocese of Rochester’s Public Policy Committee and currently serves as its chair. Previously, Fr. Cool has served on the New York State Bishop’s Public Policy Committee for six years. In addition, Fr. Cool serves on the Governance Committee of Catholic Family Center and recently was elected a member of Catholic Family Center Board of Directors. An avid Syracuse University sports fan, Fr. Cool is a high school and collegiate lacrosse referee. He has degrees from Nazareth College (Rochester, NY), St. Mary’s Seminary and University (Baltimore, MD.) and the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY).
